Getting Old Stinks

I just plain feel old lately!  Seems like everything is breaking down and giving up.  I know all that stuff about growing old gracefully and I swear I try, I really do. 
Yesterday I had another crown  crack and break off, second one this winter.  Dentist says well that is to be expected, as we age..... I hate when they start that lecture.

Age spots, thinning hair, arthritic joints, weight gain, what's to be grateful for?  I guess the point is your are still breathing.  I know, I know, I am thankful for what I have, for what still works, but sometimes it is a bit overwhelming. 
I keep saying "I am only 62" but it won't be long and I will have to say " I am only 63"
I truly don't understand why one day I can wake up and get dressed and look in the mirror and say "not bad" and the next day wake up, get dressed, look in the mirror and jump back in the bed and pull up the covers.

Spring is busting out all over....

It is so pretty around here, everywhere I go there are different flower blooming and the cactus are just starting.  Things are so busy right now, the days are just flying by.  Everyone is trying to plan the things they wanted to accomplish this season before going home.  Seems like the calendar is just packed.  Tomorrow we are having a "going home" party for our quadrant. I have to make two inside out cakes, they are a big hit here. 

J and I will be sitting down this weekend and making our plans for the trip home.  We are thinking if the weather cooperates we will stop in Santa Fe awhile.  That's as far as our planning has gone.  

I am so looking forward to seeing my sisters and the rest of my family.  And I am anxious to see my doctors at home to straighten out this pain medication problem and get my shoulder taken care of. 

I don't know what in the world happened this winter, but instead of losing weight, which I usually do, I have gained weight.  This is not good, I have to get centered and back on track to take off the four pounds I have put on.  I think Vegas had something to do with it! I think I am going to have to be extra diligent since I am not able to be as active as before. Oh well, you do your best.

Puppy Family Reunion

Last Sunday we went to Izzie's family reunion. Don't ask me why it has taken me so long to post it, I have no reason.  It is held every year by the breeder and it is so much fun to see Iz's Mom and brothers and sisters and cousin.

The breeder has four new puppies that are gorgeous, I would love to bring another one home, but J is standing firm!

Montana Mountain

Yesterday we went jeeping up and around Montana mountain in search of golden poppies.  This is the time of year they start popping out, it is getting much warmer, was in the mid 80's yesterday.

By the time we got down the mountain J had blisters on his hands from the steering wheel.  It was a heck of a ride.  This is such a beautiful place. 

Change

Everyone who knows me,  knows I hate change.  It's not the change itself it's trying to make the decision from the choices.  I hate having to do that, I have no faith in my design abilities, none at all.  I have been wanting to change my bedroom for a few months.  I had gotten it just right last year with a friends help, perfect quilt perfect pillow, matched flowers on the wall.  The only problem was I bought a quilt that could only be dry cleaned and I am a bad, bad dog owner and I allow my dog to play with J on the bed in the day time and she sleeps on it with us at night.

So needless to say it got dry cleaned quite often and was starting to look yucky.

Since the friend who helped me last year moved and my sisters are back home, I was on my own.

I was talking with my neighbor about my concerns with spending the money for a new quilt that would just be  ruined by Izzie and she showed me these great throw I could get at Bed, Bath and Beyond.  She uses it on her couch and just throws it in the wash.  

So off I went to BB&B and found the throw and a beautiful block quilt, found some pillow covers to match ( I had no idea you could by ready made pillow covers, I thought they had to be custom made) and bought a couple more and (as they say in France) WaLa!!! I think it looks lovely.

Jay for some reason questions the need to take pillows on and off the bed each night and morning. 

But I am happy, the bedroom is bright and cheerful and should  be easier  to keep clean, sure hope so.

It's here!!!

Spring has come to Arizona! Everywhere you look there are wildflowers blooming.  I feel guilty enjoying them while at home they have such awful weather.  So I am sharing them with you all today. 

Time is flying by, people are starting to leave and head home.  We have begun conversations around here, what we want to see on the way home, which way we will go, when do we need to leave.

The going home party here at Shiprock is in two weeks.  I don't like the idea of traveling through the weather that's going on between here and home so we probably will not  leave until April.
