Brown Reunion

My two sisters and I just got back from a quick trip to Mississippi, the place of our birth and early childhood. We attended a reunion of my fathers side of the family. He had 11 brothers and sisters, this reunion was for first cousins. My sister Louise has gone for several years but this was a first for Connie and I. We saw people whose names I remember but I haven't seen on over 50 years. I find that amazing, their were first cousins, second cousins and even an Aunt. The majority are living in Mississippi, but we met cousins from St Louis, Chicago and Plainfield. We had a lovely time and I wish we had more time to talk. I was really neat talking to people who remember you as a little girl and Mama as a young mother. We also visited my mothers side of the family, I will talk about them tomorrow.

there were lots of pictures and family history

lots of "how you  doing"

cousins who have not seen each other since they were toddlers

there was a lovely part, where a bell was rung for cousins we had lost the past year

Aunt B playing a game, she is the last in law.

there was lots of this, such good food

these two cousins were put to pencil sharpening
I had been hesitant about making this fast trip, such a long drive for such a short time, but I am so glad I did. I really enjoyed myself and the time with my sisters was priceless. I might share some of it in the next few days, but we had an agreement, "what happens in the car, stays in the car"

  1. Girl, you have got to start using your spell check and grammar! :) I've been waiting all day for you to post. How are you feeling? My back is still hurting, but I did get outside and do some yard work.
